#1. Bring in the Christmas spirit and hang a fresh garland on the headboard! Your guests will love the smell of fresh pine as they doze off to nap, dream or relax with a good book. If fresh pine isn’t ideal for you, use artificial garlands that are super easy to hang on bed posts. Adding in white twinkle lights will create the perfect wonder wonderland.
#2. Warm things up with fluffy throw pillows and plaid blankets. Who doesn’t love a lot of pillows and warm blankets to keep the chill away, specially when you’re away from your own home?! If you don’t love a ton of pillows, make sure to have just a few quality pillows that are down filled and 1-2 accent pillows that pull in some pattern and color to the room. Plaid, faux fur and colorful holiday patterns are perfect!
#3. Create a beautiful tablescape on the dresser. Keep it simple… with white candles in a favorite scent such as peppermint or vanilla. Add in a few favorite Christmas decorations like nutcrackers, a poinsettia, favorite photo, or bowl of vintage ornaments and you’re done!
#4. Greet guests with holiday treats and refreshments on a pretty tray. They will thank you! When you’re traveling, even for fun, it can be draining. Offer your guests some sustenance with bottled waters and simple snacks, or step it up with festive Christmas treats like cookies, truffles or chestnuts.
#5. Freshen up your walls with a new paint color! The fastest way to update ANY room is to freshen up the walls with a new paint color you LOVE. Go with a light gray, aqua blue, or farmhouse white to brighten things up, and make a small guest bedroom feel bigger! Go with a slate blue, deep teal or charcoal to keep it cozy and promote relaxation. Either way your guests will feel right at home!
